Double Check Triple Confirm and my thoughts

Finally two more weeks and the break will be over. Have not been resting well these few days, been going back to the school for a handful of items.

Yesterday I had also made the courtesy call to almost all scouts' parents to ensure them that we are not going to any farms. -)

Today I was thinking to update the blogsite. Thanks Wilbur for updating the blogs.

Asshidiq, our good Rover had also called me about the possibility of having crime prevention on Friday. -)

Okay tomorrow (13/06/2007), we shall meet up and do a last preparation for the trip.

1. Always in a dilemma, on one hand, I thought of having more activities, on one
hand, the parents of our scouts are mentioning that there are too many
activities. ->

2. Been seeing how the sec 1 cooks with the guidance of Rover GY. I remembered that
3 years, I am also almost like a monkey while preparing the small cooking area.
It's true that practices do make you perfect. ( Thanks for you orange juice.)

3. PLTC, has ended. Been there, done that? I suppose most sec 2 scouts were glad that
they had walked through this path together. This is the common memory that you
will have. Perhaps 10 years later, it will just pop out and remind you of your
secondary school friends.

Scouter Wilbur - Post PLTC

Dear Scouts,

PLTC just ended. Through these 3 days, our Scouts experienced something very different. I believe they learnt much such as teamwork, standardisation, leadership, echoing, speaking out loud, water parade and much more which are very valuable.

Participants of PLTC, I hope that you all will remember the 3 days that you had just gone through. It was not easy, but you all managed to go through it. I was there monitoring you during the team building activity. You all persevered on. Jonathan who had cough and a sprain on his leg, too continued to strive on. When he was feeling better, he joined back. His spirit of not giving up was commendable. Well done!

I hope to see you all bringing the unit to greater heights by implementing what you have learnt from PLTC. Good job guys. You will be receiving your certificate at another date. By the way, in future please write constructive feedbacks when feedbacks are required. Don't just say "No Comments". This will not help us in anyway. Do take note of that.

This week, you all will be meeting in school before the Group Camp. Joel will coordinate and arrange for the meeting.

Do have a good rest and see you during Group Camp! Take care.

Scouter Wilbur - Meeting on Thursday (7/6/07)

Dear Scouts,

Those who are going for PLTC and Group Camp, there will be a meeting to settle some admin stuffs.

Scouter Wilbur - Chat with my former scouts & PLTC

I recently met up with some of my friends to visit PC Show. They were former scouts, who were in the same batch as me, from Fajar Sec.

They told me that they were glad that they joined Scouts and also that they were greatful to the scouters who gave us tough punishments especially during PLTC. All the trainings given are all worth it. It was tough and memorable that when they are in the army, they can easily go through it without feeling much pain. They said that they can cope better in NS since they had joined Scouts.

Now, my intention is not to bring to you that tough punishments are good. Times have changed. If we are to bring out any punishments, it must be with a good and valid reason. In FSS, you don't see any of our Rovers and Leaders scolding vulgarity, making all of you suffer without any valid reason. Old methods does not usually work in this new society. There are different methods to deal with disciplinary issues now. Of course at times when things get out of hand, what we do is to get you back on the right track.

For now, we believe in bringing you QUALITY scouting, ensuring that you all learn new skills, not only scouting skills, but other relevant skills which are beneficial even when you graduate from school. I have said this many times, "At the end of the day, we want all of you to become a better person of good virtue and character."

You all have indeed made a wise choice by joining SCOUTS! Haha... Be Prepard for PLTC, info below:::

This email is intended for PLTC participants. Please gather in Fajar Sec, Tuesday, 10am outside Scout Den. OIC please give Mr Yu a call when you all reach.

Please ensure that all items that you all need for the camp is ready, especially patrol items.

All of you have been subsidised a more than 50% for the camp. You all just have to pay a small amount of not more than $10. As for the fee, we will let you know again.
